  • Haryana Government has made LED bulbs and tube lights mandatory in all offices of Haryana.
    The step will save electricity.
  • The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs awarded Surat as the Best Smart City under the Smart City Mission’s award implementation of projects in various departments. Bhopal and Ahmedabad have been selected as joint winners under innovative idea award category.
  • The world’s first Humanitarian Forensics Centre has been set up at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. It is joint venture of Red Cross in India, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives.
  • Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has adopted Jagatpur village in Delhi for its Swachhata Abhiyan. The chairman of KVIC is Vinai Kumar Saxena.
  • The fourth meeting of Governing Council of NITI Aayog was held in New Delhi. It was chaned by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
  • Telangana Government had banned the usage of single-use plastic in the offices. The Government plans to make Hyderabad a single use plastic-free city by 2021.
  • Green Mizoram Day was observed on 11 June across the Mizoram state. Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lal Thanhawla inaugurated the Green Mizoram Day, 2018.
  • President Ram Nath Kovind declared Queen Pineapple as the State Fruit of Tripura.
  • Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru was ranked under 100 top university according to the Times Higher Education’s World Reputation Ratings 2018. The list was topped by Harvard, MIT and Stanford.
  • Famous Madhavpur Mela was is held at Madhavpur Gela of Porbandar district in Gujarat.
  • Buddhist Community of Itanagar celebrated the Silver Jubilee of the Losar festival. According to Buddhist Calendar Losar festival is termed as the ‘New Year’.
  • Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana the centre has approved construction of over 3.21 lakh houses. The projects were sanctioned across 523 cities in various states.
  • The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the websites of TRIFED for sale of all its products.
  • Mission Sambhav which aims at spreading the message of toilet construction was launched in Assam. It will spread the message for toilet construction in 33 districts of Assam.
  • AAP Government presented Green Budget 2018-19 which laid emphasis on environment, health, education.
  • Kerala Government has launched ” m Keralam” app that will serve as a single window for accessing thousands of government schemes. It will initially offer 100 citizens oriented public services of 20 departments.
  • Government will continue the urea subsidy till 2020.
  • The Karnataka Chief Minister, HD Kumaraswamy unveiled the State Flag (nada dhwaja) for
    Karnataka. The flag is yellow-white-red and has state emblem ”Gandaberund” at the centre.
  • Pallavi Durua of Odisha’s Korapat district was crowned as the first Tribal Queen. She was crowned at the Adi Rani Kalinga Tribal Queen competition held at Utkal Mandap.
