किसी भी देश की प्रगति उसके पास उपलब्ध संसाधनों के सुनियोजित उपयोग और क्रियान्वयन पर निर्भर करती है। केंद्र सरकारें देश की प्रगति हेतु समय-समय पर अनेक योजनायें लागू करती रहती हैं। इसी क्रम में वर्तमान प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने उर्जा की खपत को कम करने हेतु ‘उजाला फ्री एलईडी बल्ब योजना’ को लागू किया है।
एलईडी बल्ब की रौशनी तेज़ होती है, ये बल्ब 9 w में भी उपलब्ध हैं। जिससे बिजली की खपत कम होगी। प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा लागू की गयी ‘उजाला योजना’ घरेलू कुशल प्रकाश योजना का संशोधित रूप है।
इस नए योजना के तहत देशवासियों द्वारा एलईडी बल्ब के पूर्णतया उपयोग से कुल 10.5 अरब KWH उर्जा की बचत होने का अनुमान है।

इस योजना के तहत देश भर में एलईडी बल्ब के उपयोग को बढ़ावा देना है। ताकि देश में होने वाले बिजली की खपत को कम किया जा सके तथा बिजली का प्रयोग देश की प्रगति हेतु अन्य क्षेत्रों जैसे कृषि सिंचाई, फैक्ट्री आदि में बिजली का भरपूर उपयोग किया जा सके। इस योजना के सफलता पूर्वक क्रियान्वयन से सरकार द्वारा हर घर बिजली 24 घंटे देने के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में भी सहायता मिलेगी।
उजाला योजना की विशेषतायें (Features Of Ujala Scheme):
- इस योजना के तहत एलईडी बल्ब के उपयोग से बिजली की खपत में कमी आएगी तथा बिजली के ज्यादा खपत से उत्सर्जित कार्बन की मात्रा में भी कमी आएगी। जिससे पर्यावरण की भी सुरक्षा होगी।
- इस योजना के तहत इन बल्बों पर सरकार द्वारा 2.5 -3 वर्ष की गारेंटी के साथ एलईडी बल्बों के कीमत पर सब्सिडी दे रही है जिसके कारण एल ई डी बल्ब बाजार मूल्य से 40% कम मूल्य पर उपलब्ध होंगे।
- इस योजना के तहत सब्सिडी देने का मकसद एलईडी बल्ब के उपयोग को बढ़ावा देना है।
- इस योजना के द्वारा देशवासियों को बिजली की खपत कम करने के लिए जागरूक करना है।
उजाला योजना के लाभ (Benefits Of Ujala Yojana):
- सरकार द्वारा नियुक्त csc (कॉमन सर्विस सेंटर) डिजिटल सेवा पोर्टल के माध्यम से उजाला योजना के अंतर्गत बिजली के उपकरणों को एमआरपी पर खरीदा जा सकता है।
- इस योजना के तहत कम से कम 50 एलईडी बल्ब, 20 ट्यूबलाइट तथा 4 छत वाले पंखे को सस्ती कीमत पर खरीदा जा सकता है। इन उपकरणों को खरीदने के लिए आपको अपने निकट के csc (कॉमन सर्विस सेंटर) पर आर्डर देना होगा।
- उजाला योजना के तहत, EESL (ईनर्जी ईफिशिएंसी सर्विसेज लिमिटेड) सेंटर बिजली के उपकरणों पर निम्नलिखित अवधि के लिए वारंटी प्रदान करता है: –
