RRB Loco Pilot is one of the posts for which railways recruit candidates.As per the Latest RRB Loco Pilot Exam Updates, the Detailed Centralized Employment Notification for 2018 is released on 3rd Feb 2018.Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts computer based examination for recruitment of RRB loco pilot and Technician posts. There are total 26502 vacancies released by RRB. RRB loco pilot and Technician Recruitment 2018 will be held in two stages followed by Aptitude Test (if applicable) and Document Verification. First Stage CBT is scheduled to be held in the month of April and May 2018.

RRB Loco Pilot is the most important person in executing the huge task of transporting nearly 25 Million passengers and more than 2.8 Million Tons of freight daily with the help of 2,29,381 wagons, 59,713 coaches and more than 9,213 locomotive engines of various kinds.

Application fees for various categories is as given below:

• General/OBC– Rs.500/-
• Female All Category– Rs.250/-
• SC/ST/PH / EX SM– Rs.250/-

According to the official notification of RRB ALP recruitment 2018, out of 26502 vacancies, 17673 posts for Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) and 8829 posts for Technicians Grade-III allotted.

RRB loco pilot  Admit Card 2018:

The candidates whose application would be accepted by the examination conducting authority i.e the Railway Recruitment Board can get their admit card for RRB ALP exam. RRB ALP admit card 2018 for online test will be available in the second week of April 2018.

RRB ALP Result 2018:

The RRB ALP result 2018 will be out in August 2018. Those who will be passed will only be eligible for Document verification and Medical fitness test.A final merit list will be available on concerned RRB regional websites after completion of the document verification process and medical standard test.

RRB ALP Elligibilty :

Age Limit: Candidates must be between the age of 18 to 28 years at the time of applying.

Education Qualifications: Candidates must have qualified Matriculation exam along with course completed Act Apprenticeship/ ITI approved by NCVT/ SCVT in the trades of Fitter/ Electrician/ Instrument Mechanic/ Millwright Maintenance Mechanic/ Mechanic Radio & TV/ Electronics Mechanic/ Mechanic Motor Vehicle etc, 10+2 with Maths/ Physics, Diploma in Engineering for ALP Post and Matriculation plus course completed Act Apprenticeship/ ITI approved by NCVT/ SCVT in the trades of Electrician/ Electrical Fitter/ Wire man/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ TV & Radio/ Instrumentation/Computer/ Computer Networking etc, 10+2 with Maths/ Physics, Diploma in Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics/ Microprocessor/ etc for Technician posts.

 

RRB ALP  Exam Pattern 2018:

RRB will conduct  online exam for RRB loco pilot & Technician. There will be two stages of examination that is First Stage CBT and Second Stage CBT.  Apart from this, candidates who have filled application for ALP and qualified in first and 2nd stage of CBT have to appear for Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT), Marks will be normalised in all stages of exam.There will be no negative marking in Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT).

First Stage CBT :

  • There will be total 75 questions of the MCQ type .Each question will be of  1 mark each.
  • The duration will be 60 minutes.
  • The score of first CBT will be used only for shortlisting of candidates for second stage CBT exam as per merit.

ALP 2nd Stage CBT:

  • Candidates who qualified in First Stage Exam only can appear in this exam.
  • The Duration for the exam will be 2:30 hrs.
  • There will be two parts [Part – A, Part – B]. Part A will consist of Total 100 questions and its duration will be  90 min. The duration for part B will be 60 min  and the total number of questions will be 75.
  • Part A passing marks will be 40% for UR  , 30% for OBC, 30% for SC, 25 % for ST.
  • Part B passing Marks will be 35% for all the categories.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted for 2nd Stage CBT Exam on the basis of marks obtained in First CBT Exam. 15 times of total number of vacancies will be called for 2nd Stage CBT Exam of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician.
