RBI Grade B Recruitment 2018

Reserve Bank of India has released the notification for its RBI Grade B 2018 Officer Exam for the eligible candidates for this year. The post is for Grade B officer in RBI’s various branches across the country. Thousands of students want to join RBI as an officer as this is one of the most reputed jobs offered by banks in India. The examination for the RBI’s Grade B Officers will take place in three phases. The first phase is the preliminary examination, the second one is the Mains examination and the last one is an Interview.

RBI Grade B Notification

The recruitment notification of RBI for the Grade B Officer post has been released on 3rd of July 2018. The preliminary examination is expected to take place on the 16th of August 2018. The tentative date for the phase – II examination or the mains examination is 07th of September 2018.

RBI Grade B Salary

If we talk about the annual salary package offered by the RBI for the Grade B Officers is 12 to 14 lacs. RBI also offers a lot of emoluments and perks along with the annual salary package. The pay scale that RBI offers to the Grade B Officers is Rs. 35150 – 1750(9) – 50900 – EB – 1750(2) – 54400 – 2000(4) – 62400. The basic pay that a candidate will expect for is Rs. 35,150/- and this basic pay will keep on incrementing with Rs. 1,750 up to nine years of service. Then, you will be into the executive band where your basic will increase to Rs. 50,900/-, after this again for next two years an increment of Rs. 1,750/- will be given and further that increment of Rs. 2000/- for the next two years. Thus, you will end up with a basic pay of Rs. 62,400/-.

Some other emoluments and perks, other than the basic pay are – Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, etc.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern

The examination of RBI Grade B Officers will be conducted in three phases. The first one is the phase – I or preliminary examination, when a candidate clears this examination, he or she will be eligible for the phase – II or mains examination. After qualifying mains examination, you will be called for the last phase or stage, which will be a face to face interview.

A candidate is required to clear all the three phases and then only he or she can get selected in RBI as a Grade B Officer.

RBI Grade B Interview Process

A candidate will get selected for the interview according to his or her aggregate marks obtained in the three sections or three papers of the mains or phase – II examination. The interview will be of 50 marks.

RBI Grade B Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for this exam are the same as before, no changes have been observed. The eligibility criteria involve nationality eligibility, age limit eligibility, and educational qualification eligibility. You have to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. In case you fill the form without checking the eligibility, and then found to be not eligible for the exam, then RBI has rights to disqualify your application.

RBI Grade B Age Limit

  1. The age for General category candidates should be in between 21 years to 30 years.
  2. Age relaxation of 5 years has been given to SC / ST candidates.
  3. 3 years of age relaxation for OBC candidates.
  4. Age relaxation of 10 years for PWD candidates.
  5. Physically Handicapped + OBC candidate will get age relaxation of 13 years.
  6. PH + SC/ST candidate gets age relaxation of 15 years.

RBI Grade B Nationality

  1. Candidates having a certificate of the citizen of India are eligible.
  2. Candidates, who are the citizen of either Bhutan or Nepal or Bangladesh, are eligible only when they have a valid certificate stating that they have permanent intention to settle in India.

RBI Grade B Educational Qualification

  1. A candidate has to be graduate with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
  2. For reserved category candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required in graduation is 50%.
  3. Candidates having the doctorate degree with an aggregate of 50% can also apply.
  4. If a candidate has a masters degree with 55% aggregate, he or she can also apply for the RBI Grade B examination.
  5. Candidates having a post-graduate diploma in management or MBA can also apply.
  6. CA, CS or Cost accountant can also apply.

RBI Grade B Application Fees

The application fees for the General and OBC category is Rs. 850/-. The application fees for the candidates belonging to SC/ST and PWD category is Rs. 100/-.
