OVERVIEW

PTU CET stands for Punjab Technical University Combined Entrance Test. This examination commenced by PTU for selecting the candidates to take admission in various courses.

PTU CET

This is a facility offered by PTU and to the affiliated colleges. It is a mandatory test that aspirants have to go through to take admission in the several courses. PTU is located in Jalandhar, Punjab which provides courses such as Pharmacy, Architecture, Engineering, Management, Medical Lab Technologies, Hotel Management, and IT disciplines..

PTU CET 2018 Exam Date (Tentative)

  • Date for application form: April 2018
  • Date for application form submission: May 2018
  • Examination date – May 2018
  • Result Date – June 2018

PTU CET 2018 Application Form

The candidates are required to download the application form online from the official website www.ptu.ac.in. The downloaded application form should be filled up with his/he own handwriting and submitted along with the examination fee deposit slip through Speed Post / Registered Post or by hand at the following address on or before the last date and time –

The candidates will be considered to submit their application form after the last date, only under extreme circumstances with a late fee of Rs. 1000/-.

The University has all the right to reject the application form if,

  1. It is not in the prescribed Format.
  2. If the candidate has not filled up the application form in his/her handwriting and the application is not supported by the requisite attested photocopies of the certificates or documents.
  3. If it is a photocopy not the original copy of the application form.
  4. If the application form is received after the prescribed date and time.

PTU CET Application / Registration Fee

The entrance exam fee will be Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates). Candidates have to submit Rs. 2000 as a counselling fee. The fee is non-refundable. The fee can be paid through online (net banking, credit or debit card) or offline (cash at the Bank after generating the Challan) mode.

PTU CET Elligibilty Criteria

There is essential eligibility criteria required by PTU CET 2018 that candidate has to fulfill to apply. PTU CET 2018 eligibility criteria are mandatory to be filled by the applying candidates. The Elligibilty Criteria for PTU CET is as given below:

For B. Tech: Candidates must have passed class 12th or the equivalent education with the following subjects. Math & Physics as main subjects & any of non-compulsory subject like computer science, Chemistry, Biotechnology & Biology.

For B. Arch: Candidates must have completed class 12th or the equivalent education with at least 50% marks in Math & English as the subjects of assessment.

For B. Pharmacy: Candidates must have finished class 12thwith subjects like Physics & Chemistry along with following subjects. Computer science, Mathematics or Bio-Technology or else three year qualification in Pharmacy with approx 50% marks.

PTU Combined Entrance Test 2018 Paper Pattern:

  1. Syllabus for the exam will be based on NCERT syllabus only.Topics will be same as JEE Main but  the level of difficulty  is much easier than that.
  2. The test will take place in online mode only with objective type question with four options for each question.
  3. The paper will be available  in only English Language.
  4. The candidates can also procure seats in B.Tech, B.Arch., B.Pharm. via JEE Main score card also.

Seat Reservation: 85% of the seats will remain reserved for the candidates of the Punjab states only. And for the rest seat, any candidates from other states can apply for an open category.

 How to Prepare for PTU CET 2018?

  • It is very important that you make a time table and stick to it and you will have an exact idea of what you are required to study and the time required for it.
  • It is essential that you have a clear idea of the formulas and concepts rather than rote learning of things for the papers. While you might require it for memorizing formulas it is important that for other stuff you make sure you clear your basis and concepts before moving on.
  • Give dedicated hours to prepare a new topic each day (2-3 hours) and try and complete the same with perfection.
  • Always try to be positive towards every work that you do and be focused towards all your activities along with studies. Being optimistic works very well many a times in such situations.
  • Prepare the best way by appearing as many mock tests you can, and analyze the results regularly. Try solving the portion which you find difficult in the mock tests and create a strong base.
  • Maintain a completely healthy diet including fresh fruits and vegetables. Try to ignore oily stuff and have a proper balanced diet.
