Pradhanmantri Matritva Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) – Rs 6000 Benefit for All Pregnant Women
Pradhanmantri Matritva Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) started with sole purpose to help Pregnant women during first two child birth. It has been re-designed from Pradhan Mantri Matratva Sahyog Yojana. Earlier it was Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana, which was started in 2010. This scheme is implemented by Ministry of Women and Child Development. This has been newly Launched by PM Modi exclusively.
Most amazing thing with this scheme is – Linkage to Direct Benefit Transfer ( DBT) via Addhar, where women of age 19 years get amount in their account – First after 6 month of pregnency, later with further tests and child virth.
Silent Features and Objective
- Eligibility –

- All women with age 19 years or above
- Women should not be taking paid maternity leave from somewhere else.
- Amount Paid by Government –

- Government will pay Rs 6000 to the women in two installements. First installment after 6 month and second installment after birth of child.
- Where to Contact or Register –

- All women can register themsleves at near by Aganwadi Center with Aadhar Card.
Under this scheme women are advised to do breastfeed for six month along with various Immunize like OPV, DPT. This is central sponsored scheme which is being funded in the ratio of 60:40 and for north east it is 90:10 ratio.

This is really great scheme for helping Rural Women where they are sole earner of the family as the amount govenment provide can be utilized as compensation to loss of work not done during this period of time.
