OVERVIEW:
NDA 2018: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) examination (I) 2018. All those who are aspiring to join the Indian defence services can check the same at the official website – upsconline.nic.in. Selected ones will get admission at NDA and INA.
The registration will continue till February 5. The exam is being conducted on April 22 for admission to the army, navy and air force wings of the NDA, for the 141th course, and for the 103rd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from January 2, 2019. Those who will clear the exam will then have to appear for SSB interview.

NDA 2018 Application Fee :
The Payment can be done by the debit card or the credit card. You can also pay the fees charges by internet banking. If the candidate is not able to pay through online mode, they can pay fees through offline mode (in nearest SBI bank).
- The Application Fee for General/OBC category is Rs.100/-
- For candidates belonging to SC/ST/sons of serving/ex-Junior Commissioned Officers or equivalent,the application fee is Exempted.
NDA Admit Card 2018
- The authority shall release the NDA admit card 2018 via online mode.
- Students can get their admit card via online mode through the website.
- The admit card bear exam related details like students name, roll number, exam center, exam date & timing, etc.
- Without admit card, candidates will not be permitted to appear in the examination.
NDA 2018 Elligibilty Criteria :
- The applicants must be an Indian citizen or a subject of Bhutan/Nepal/Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to become a permanent resident of India.
- Only unmarried male applicants can apply for NDA 2018.
- For NDA (I), the applicants should not be born before 2nd July 1999 & not later than 1st July 2002.
- For NDA (II), the applicants should not be born before 2nd January 2000 and not later than 1st July 2003.
- For Air Force & Naval Wings of National Defence Academy & for 12th Cadet Entry Scheme at Indian Naval Academy– The applicants should have cleared 12thstandard or equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics from any state education board or university.
- For Army Wings of National Defence Academy– The applicants should have cleared 12th standard or equivalent examination organized by any State education board or university.
- The applicants who are appearing in 12thstandard or equivalent can also apply for NDA.
- The applicants must be physically fit as per the guidelines set by National Defence Academy & Naval Academy examinations.
- The applicants who have resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of Armed Forces are not eligible to apply for NDA.

- Both The National Defence Academy (NDA) 1 And National Defence Academy (NDA) 2 Exam Consist Of Two Papers. The first One Is Mathematics And The Second One Is General Ability Test.
- Mathematics: The Mathematics Paper Carries Out 300 Marks And Consists Of Mcqs Based On The Syllabus Of Class 10th, 11th And 12th. The Duration Of This Exam Will Be 2.5 Hours. There Is Also A Negative Marking For The Wrong Responses Given By Candidates.
- General Ability: In This Part There Are Two Sections. The first Section Is Of English With 200 Marks And The Second Section Consists Of General Knowledge With 400 Marks.The Paper Will Be Of Multiple Choice Question With Four Options In Which Candidates Have To Choose The Correct One.
- There Will Be 120 Questions Of 300 Marks In Paper I And 150 Questions Of 600 Marks In Paper II.
- Marks For SSB Interview Is 900 Marks.
NDA 2018 Syllabus :
The syllabus for paper 1 and paper 2 is different. Paper 1 will be of 300 marks which will be of Mathematics and paper 2 will be of General Ability Test which will also hold 300 marks.
NDA Mathematics Syllabus 2018
Paper I (Mathematics) : The total number of question asked in the Paper I are 120. These questions are based on the syllabus of Class 10th, 11th & 12th. The maximum marks for paper I is 300 marks. The topics include Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential equations, Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions, Probability, Algebra, Vector Algebra, Matrices and Determinants: Types of Matrices, Determinant of a matrix, Statistics.
General Ability Syllabus:
Paper II( General Ability ):This section comprises of two parts, i.e. Part A & Part B. The part A contains topics like English vocabulary, Grammar and usage, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English. Part B comprises of different topics from General Knowledge, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, History, Current Events & Geography.

How to prepare for NDA 2018?
- Before starting NDA Exam Preparation, you must go through the syllabus thoroughly and be clear of what you need to study. This prevents you from studying the irrelevent topics.
- Be fully aware of the Current Affairs and keep an eye on the day to day events that takes place nearby you. This will always prove to be beneficial and will give you an edge over others in the exam.
