• BITSAT elaborated  as Birla Institute of Technology & Science aptitude Test. Bits, pilani is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. It is  one of the toughest engineering entrance exam to crack.
• The university has 15 academic departments, and focuses primarily on undergraduate education in engineering and the sciences and on its management programme.

The Application procedure to apply for the exam is as follows :

• You can apply for BITSAT exam through online mode.
• The application form is available online. You can fill the form by clicking on the link given below.
•  BITSAT Online Application form    for the year 2018 is released by Bits pilani.
• The Application form filling procedure consist of the three steps as given below:

1. Stage 1 – Registration/Filling the application form.
2. Stage 2 – Uploading scanned images.
3. Stage 3 – Paying application fee.

BITSAT 2018 Exam Pattern:

• BITSAT 2018 exam paper will be conducted  only in online mode. It is  based on objective-type multiple choice questions where you will be evaluated on the basis of your correct answers.
• The Duration of the exam will be three hours.
• There will be total 150 questions.
• Each question will consist of 3 marks. Negative marking is there in this exam.
• Each correct answer will fetch you 3 marks while each wrong answer will deduct 1/4th marks from your total score.
• The exam will be having 4 parts as below:

Elligibility Criteria :

• Students must pass 11th+12th or equivalent exam from any board weather it be state board or CBSE with subjects including  Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English .
• Students must  obtain 75% marks in PCB or PCM group with at least 60% in each subject physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology.
•  Aspirants who have passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or earlier are not eligible to apply.
• There’s no reservation policy at BITS Pilani. All the candidates are selected on the basis of their merit.

Syallabus:

The syllabus will be based on the NCERT syllabus of 11^th & 12^th standard. The syllabus will be composed of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning.Prepare as per the BITSAT syllabus provided in the brochure. Mathematics:

Complex numbers, The fundamental theorem of algebra, Theory of Quadratic equations, Arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, Logarithms and their properties, Exponential series, Permutations and combinations, Binomial theorem, Pascal’s triangle, etc.

Physics:

Units & Measurement, Kinematics, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Impulse and Momentum, Work and Energy, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, etc.

Chemistry:

States of Matter, Atomic Structure, Thermodynamics, Physical and Chemical Equilibria, Electro chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, Hydrogen and s-block elements, etc.

Biology:

Diversity in Living World, Cell – The Unit of Life; Structure and Function, Genetics and Evolution, Structure and Function – Plants, Structure and Function – Animals, Reproduction, Growth and Movement in Plants, etc.

Logical Reasoning:

Binary Logic, Verbal Reasoning, Non-verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Puzzle Test, Syllogism, Classification Test, Alphabet Test, Eligibility Test, etc.

English Proficiency:

Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Analogies, Syllogisms, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Conclusion, Composition, Comprehension, Word Formation, etc.

How to Crack? /Preparation :

1. Inorder to crack the BITSAT 2018 first of all the  study the overall syllabus.
2. Read each and every chapter from the syllabus and from the NCERT books.
3. Never not stress out yourself with multiple books rather follow a very simple combination of books that we recommend  and the best combination of books  would be NCERT + 1 Advanced Book of mcqs.
4. For BITSAT , content can be prepared from NCERT itself and the best book to practice online and mock papers of BITSAT is Arihant’s BITSAT prep book. Its quite famous. You must start preparing atleast 5–6 months in advance along with your JEE prep for atleast 2 hours daily.
5. A lot of practice is required in mathematics because the subject is more mechanical than logic based so you need to work more on it and use your brain power.
6. Prepare a strict timetable for the same. Identify the important  topics which are core essential and which are not.
7.  Set daily targets and stick to them.
8. Take the online Test and the mock test which are available online and identify your score and weak areas and work on your weak areas to improve. While you study new topic each spend some hours in revision of the old ones.
9. Start the paper with a subject that you are competent with, moving on to English and Logical Reasoning. This strategy turns out to be extremely effective.
10. Cracking BITSAT with a score of above 300 will surely land you in one of the BITS campus and trust me, it’s as good as an IIT and even better in some regards.Prepare well and give a good shot to it.All the best for your exam!
