OVERVIEW:
COMEDK is a state-level examination conducted by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka( Undergraduate Entrance Test) in order to take admissions to in engineering and medical degree courses offered by colleges/institutes that are affiliated to COMEDK. Every year around 72,152 aspirants apply for this exam. The scores of this exam are taken into consideration by more than 150 engineering colleges, 12 medical colleges and 25 dental colleges in the state of Karnataka. COMEDK UGET 2018 exam date have been announced. According to the official website, the exam will be conducted on May 13, 2018. The examination of COMEDK UGET will be a online computer-based test. The authorities will prepare a merit list on the basis of scores secured by the candidates in the COMEDK entrance examination. COMEDK UGET important Dates 2018 :
- The Registration for COMEDK UGET 2018 has been started from January 16,2018.
- Final Date for Submission of Filled Application Form and Online Payment is April 19, 2018.
- COMEDK UGET Hall Ticket will be available from May 4 to May 12, 2018.
- COMEDK UGET 2018 Examination is going to be held on May 13, 2018.
- COMEDK UGET 2018 Result will be announced on May 28, 2018.
- Counselling Session of COMEDK UGET will start from June to July 2018.
Exam Paper Pattern:
- The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
- The exam will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs).
- Each MCQ will hold 1 mark each.There will be no Negative marking.χΡ
- There will be 180 questions with three sections consisting of physics,chemistry and mathematics.
- Each section will consist of 60 questions.
Syallabus:
The complete syllabus will be comprised of mainly three subjects including physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Here is a brief syllabus according to the subjects.
Application Fee:
The application fee is Rs. 1300 for all candidates . The taxes will be applicable and convenience fee/charges will also be charged. Candidates can pay the application fee via online mode. The fee is non-refundable. Applicants can make use of net banking/credit card/debit card.
Application form:
- You can fill the application form only through online mode.
- The Application form has been released from 16th January 2018.
- After successful registration, candidates will get the unique USER ID and Password in the registered email id & mobile number.
- Candidates have to upload their photograph, signature in the JPEG format.
- Candidates, those seeking admission to B.Arch course have to submit the separate application for appearing in the counselling process.
Admit card:
Candidates can download the admit card for COMEDK by logging into their account from the Official website of COMEDK.
- Open the official website of COMEDK and click on ‘Test Admission Ticket’ under ‘UGET 2018 Section’.
- Enter the COMEDK Applicant login details- User ID and Password.
- Click on the login button.
- The Test Admission Ticket (TAT) will be displayed on screen.
- Download it and take multiple printouts for future use.
Note: The admit card will be available only for a limited period so the candidates are requested to download the admit card well in advance.
It is mandatory for candidates to carry their Test Admission Ticket,without which they will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Along with the admit card carry the following things:
- Two passport sized photographs
- Photo ID Proof.ID Proofs include the following:
- Aadhar Card
- Driving License
- Passport
- PAN Card
- School/College ID. Candidates can bring any one of these ID proofs.
Elligibility Criteria:
Candidates seeking admissions at engineering, medical and dental colleges in the state of Karnataka have to satisfy multiple eligibility criteria of COMEDK UGET. The course wise COMEDK UGET 2018 eligibility criteria is as follows:
Eligibility Criteria for Engineering course
Candidates are eligible to apply for COMEDK UGET if they fullfill the following eligiblity criteria:
- The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State Board or any other equivalent board.
- The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subjects.
- Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
Eligibility Criteria for Architectural courses
- The qualifying examination for admission to B. Arch course is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained atleast 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka.
- The candidates should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 marks for both General Merit and Category students.
Important:
- Architecture aspirants have to fill a separate application form for COMEDK UGET 2018.
How to prepare?
- Different institutions have different criteria for selecting students and hence conduct separate exams. Knowing and understanding the pattern of the examination and types of questions is an indispensable part of your preparation.
- Clear your basics first. If your basics of any subject are not clear then, it is obvious that at any how you can’t score good marks in that subject. You can clear your basics by start your studies with the initial level, don’t look for advanced until you are not able to gain basic knowledge.
- Collect previous COMEDK exam questions papers and start solving them. This will help you in evaluating your situation and identifying your weaknesses and strengths. Make a note of all the topics you are weak in and focus more on those topics.
- Try to absolutely stick to your schedule and never procrastinate. The towering syllabus requires diligent study and hence you must train yourself to study for a specific required number of hours every day apart from practicing extra questions.
- Make separate notes of formulae from all subjects Practice diagrams and label Join coaching institutes would help in quick learning and guide you on the right direction for eg topics to be covered, time spent on each topic, how to make notes and how to judge the question Practice previous year questions booklets and more and more sample papers Try to have 3-4 revisions before you appear for the exam. This boosts you confidence level.
- Do not take stress and be calm. Don’t take stress; try to avoid it as it may affect your heath as well as your performance.
- Take enough sleep and healthy food so that it will sharpen your memory and will keep you fit.
