Question 1 – If the cost of 7 m clothe is 294. Then find the cost of 5 m clothe?

Solution –

cost of 7 m clothe = 294 rupees

So the cost of 1 m clothe = 294÷ 7

= 42 rupees

Hence, cost of 5 m clothe = 42 * 5

= 210 rupees

 

Question 2 – Ekta earns 15000 in 10 days. How much will she earn in 50 days?

 

Solution –

Earning of 10 days = 15000 rupees

So, earning in 1 day = 15000÷ 10

= 1500

Hence, earning in 50 days = 1500* 50

= 75000 rupees.

Question 3 – if it has rained 276 mm in last 3 days. How many cm of rain will fall in one full week ( 7 days)? Assume that rain contiunes to fall at the same rate.

Solution-

Rain in 3 days = 276 mm

So, rain in 1 day = 276/3 = 92 mm

Hence, rain in 7 days = 92*7 = 644mm

So the rain in 7 days = 64.4 cm

Question 4 – cost of 5 kg of wheat is rupees 30.50.

(a) – what will be the cost of 8 kg of wheat?

(b) – what quantity of wheat can be purchased in rupees 61?

Solution –

Cost of 5 kg of wheat = 30.50

So, cost of 1 kg of wheat = 30.50/8 = 6.10 rupees

(a) Hence, cost of 8 kg wheat = 6.10*8

= 48.80 rupees

(b) quantity of wheat purchased from rupees 30.5 = 5kg

Quantity of wheat purchased from rupees 1 = 5/30.5

Quantity of wheat purachsed from rupees 61 = (5/30.5)*61

= 10 kg
