Important Dates for UPSC CAPF AC Recruitment 2018

  • Release of UPSC CAPF AC notification 2018 – 25th April 2018

UPSC CAPF AC 2018 Exam Application Fee 

  • The candidates need to pay Rs.200/- as application fee through online in any Branch of SBI by using net banking facility of State Bank Of India.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Female candidates are exempted from application fee.

UPSC CAPF AC Admit Card 2018

The elligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The UPSC CAPF AC Admit Card 2018 will be made available in the UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in .No Admission Certificate will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid active E-Mail I.D. while filling up Online Application Form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them at different stages of examination process.All the norms of eligibility must be fulfilled by the candidates prior to apply online for the exam.

UPSC CAPF Elligibility Criteria 2018

Candidates who wants to get recruited to the post of Assistant Commandants should satisfy all the eligibility criteria of CAPF 2018.

Nationality

Only a citizen of India is allowed to appear in the examination. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan can also apply for the exam, but he/she has to produce a valid eligibility certificate.

Gender

Male and Female candidates, both are eligible for the UPSC CAPF Exam 2018.

Age Limit (as on 1 August 2018)

A candidate’s age must be between 20 years to 25 years, i.e. he/she must have been born after 2 August 1993 and before 1 August 1998.

Age Relaxation

Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per the government norms.

  • For Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Candidates- 05 years
  • For candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes- 03 years
  • For Civilian Central Government Servants/ Ex-Servicemen- 05 years
  • For candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1 January 1980- 31 December 1989- 05 Years

Educational Qualification

Aspirants must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised University or possess an equivalent qualification can apply for the examination.

UPSC CAPF AC Exam Pattern

There will be 2 papers in CAPF examination- Paper I and Paper II.

Paper I – General Ability & Intelligence

It is a objective type question paper consists of 125 questions of compulsory type. The total marks allotted will be 250 and total duration is 2 hours.

Paper II – Descriptive Exam

It will be from General Studies, Essay & Comprehension and will be out of 200 marks and duration will be 3 hours. Paper II will have 20 questions of compulsory type.

Paper I will cover the topics from these areas-

  • General mental ability
  • Indian & world geography
  • General Science
  • History of India
  • Indian polity & economy
  • Current events of national & international importance.

Paper II (General studies, essay & comprehension)

Paper II will cover the following topics-

  • Precis writing
  • Report writing
  • Essay writing (approx. 800 words)
  • Question from comprehension & passage
  • Counter argument type questions
  • Other grammar questions

UPSC CAPF 2018 Result

Result for UPSC CAPF 2018 written exam is expected to be declared in last week of August 2018 or in the first week of September 2018. If a candidate secures minimum qualifying marks in Paper 1 only then answer sheet of Paper 2 will be considered for checking.

A Merit will be announced on the basis of UPSC CAPF 2018 Written Exam and Interview which make total marks 600.

UPSC CAPF 2018 Selection Process

The selection procedure of CAPF AC will be completed into 3 phases-

  1. Written examination

There will be 2 papers in written test. The applicants have to qualify in both the paper for further processing for selection.

The qualified applicants of written examination will be called for this phase. The selected candidates of this phase will be further called for final phase which is personal interview. The details for Physical standards (PST) and Physical efficiency test are as below-

The female candidates with pregnancy during PET will be disqualified and will be rejected.

The qualified applicants of phase I and phase II (written test and physical standards) will be called to attempt last phase (personal interview). The personal interview test will have maximum 150 marks.

In this phase the applicants will be selected on the basis of their body language or personality and behavioral knowledge.

End selection for UPSC CAPF AC 2018

The scores of all 3 phase (written examination, physical standards and personal interview) all together will be considered for end selection by UPSC. The merit list of final selected applicants will be declared in the official website of UP[yop_poll id=”-3″]SC.

UPSC CAPF  2018 Preparation Tips

CAPF aspirants are advised to go through complete exam pattern before they start their preparation. This will help them in understanding the examination pattern and do well in the examination. Some other useful preparation tips are as follows :

  • Solve at least ten previous years’ papers as it will help you to understand that how much efforts you need to make to the clear the examination.
  • Practice quantitative aptitude and Reasoning at least 2 hours daily.  Write down the formulas and the shortcut tricks and practise and revise them.
  • Refer NCERT books for History, Geography and Science sections.
  • Read newspapers and focus mainly on political, economical, national and international issues  as these  topics are generally based on the issues going on around the world.
  • Revision is the best source to improve the knowledge.To ensure that you don’t forget the majority of the topics you are studying, revise them next day and take a test on the topic you have studied after a day or two.
  • Make sure that along with studies you devote at least a few hours in doing physical activities as well, as the  physical test is equally important as that of written test.
  • For interview round wear formal dress,have a clean shave and short hair as it is a defense related job interview. Be  sensitive at the time of entering the interview room as well as before taking a seat and politely tell them if you don’t know the correct answer.
