SBI PO 2018

SBI has released his recruitment notification for the post of Probationary Officers on April 19th, 2018. State Bank of India recruits against the vacant PO posts through this exam. There are so many of the students who have been eagerly waiting for this exam, so now is the chance for all you. SBI has announced the number of vacancies to be around 2000 this year.

The online form submission has started from April 21st, 2018 and you have to fill the form by May 13th, 2018. The preliminary exam is has been planned to take place in the first week of July and the mains exam is going to take place on August 4th, 2018.

Due to known reasons the number of vacancies are not much this time. SBI released more than 2300 vacancies last year. The vacancy details of this year for SBI PO are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for this exam are same as before, no changes has been observed. The eligibility criteria involve nationality eligibility, age limit eligibility and educational qualification eligibility. You have to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. In case you fill the form without checking the eligibility, and then found to be not eligible for the exam, then SBI will disqualify your application.

Educational Qualification

  1. Candidates who have passed their graduation from any recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the central government.
  2. Candidates having the integrated dual degree certificate need to ensure that their date of passing is on or before 31st/ 08th/2018.

Age Limit

  1. The age for General category candidates should be in between 21 years to 30 years.
  2. Age relaxation of 5 years has been given to SC / ST candidates.
  3. 3 years of age relaxation for OBC candidates.
  4. Age relaxation of 10 years for PWD (Gen) candidates.
  5. 15 years of age relaxation has been given to the PWD (SC / ST) candidates.
  6. Age relaxation of 13 years for PWD (OBC) candidates.
  7. J & K domicile person during the period from 01/ 01/ 1980 to 31/ 12/ 1989 will get age relaxation of 5 years.

Nationality

  1. Candidates having certificate of citizen of India are eligible.
  2. Candidates, who are citizen of either Bhutan or Nepal or Bangladesh, are eligible only when they have valid certificate stating that they have permanent intention to settle in India.

Selection Procedure

The SBI PO exam 2018 has been divided into 3 stages. First being the online preliminary examination, second is online mains examination and third is the interview.

Preliminary Examination

The preliminary exam will be a computer based test and will have a total of 100 questions of 100 marks. Each question will contain 1 mark. There will be three sections Reasoning, Aptitude and English. Reasoning and Aptitude section will have 35 questions each and English section will have 30 questions. The total time for the exam is 1 hours but the time allotted for each section will be 20 minutes.

  • There will negative marking in preliminary examination.
  • One fourth of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted as negative marks.
  • There will be no sectional cut off.
  • There will be no overall cut off.
  • The selection of the students for the Mains Examination will take place on merit list basis.
  • The number of students for the Mains examination will be approximately ten times the number of vacancies.

Mains Examination

The mains exam is a combination of a computer based objective test and a computer based descriptive test.

The objective exam will have a total of 155 questions for 200 marks. There will be four sections in the exam as – General / Economy and Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude. From these sections, General Awareness will contain 40 questions of 40 marks and has be allotted time of 35 minutes, English Language will contain 35 questions of 40 marks and the time allotted is 40 minutes, Data Interpretation will have 35 questions for 60 marks with 45 minutes of time duration and Reasoning and Computers will have 45 questions for 60 marks with 60 minutes of time. The total time for the exam is 3 hours.

The online descriptive test will have only two questions and there are going to an essay and a letter writing question. Both the questions has to be answered in English only. This computer based descriptive test is named as Test of English Language. The total marks for this test will be 50 marks only and the time duration is of 30 minutes.

  • There will be negative marking in mains examination as well.
  • There is no negative marking in descriptive test.
  • One fourth of the marks allotted to the question will be deducted as negative marks.
  • There will be no sectional cut off.
  • The selection of the students for the GD and Interview will take place on merit list basis.
  • The number of students for the GD and Interview will be approximately three times the number of vacancies category wise.

Group Exercise and Interview

The group exercise will be of 20 marks and the interview will be of 30 marks.

Pay Scale

Everybody wants to know about the pay scale and what salary will they get, so the pay scale for SBI PO is Rs. 23700 – 980/7 – 30560 – 1145/2 – 32850 – 1310/7 – 42020. The starting basic pay is Rs. 27,620/- for the Junior Management Grade Scale – I. With all the allowances and perquisites, the minimum annual CTC will be Rs. 8.20 lacs and maximum annual CTC will be Rs. 13.08 lacs, depending upon the city of posting.

Fees Payment

Fees have to be paid online only. There is no other means to submit fees.

Admit Card

Admit cards for preliminary exam will be made available from June 18th, 2018. The admit card for preliminary-exam training will be available from May 28th, 2018.

Result

Result for preliminary exam will be declared on July 15th, 2018. Mains result will be declared on August 20th, 2018.
