SBI Clerk Notification, Eligibility, Selection Procedure 2018
SBI has released his recruitment notification for the post of Junior Associate on January 19th, 2018. State Bank of India recruits against the vacant clerical posts through this exam. There are a huge number of candidates who wish to join banking sector and here is the first direct opportunity for them in the New Year. SBI has announced the number of vacancies to be 8301 this year. Usually this exam notification gets published in the month of April and exam takes place in the month of June. But this year SBI has surprised everybody with an early notification of the exam.

The online form submission has started from January 20th, 2018 and you have to fill the form by February 10th, 2018. The pre exam is supposed to take place in the month of March and mains exam will be on May 12th, 2018.

Since the exam didn’t take place last year, the number of vacancies is pretty good this time. SBI has released 7200 regular vacancies and 1101 backlog vacancies this year. The vacancy details are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for this exam are same as before, no changes has been observed. The eligibility criteria involve nationality eligibility, age limit eligibility and educational qualification eligibility. You have to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. In case you fill the form without checking the eligibility, and then found to be not eligible for the exam, then SBI will disqualify your application.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates who have passed their graduation from any recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the central government.
- Candidates having the integrated dual degree certificate need to ensure that their date of passing is on or before 01/ 01/2018.
Age Limit
- The age for General category candidates should be in between 20 years to 28 years.
- Age relaxation of 5 years has been given to SC / ST candidates.
- 3 years of age relaxation for OBC candidates.
- Age relaxation of 10 years for PWD (Gen) candidates.
- Age relaxation of 15 years for PWD (SC / ST) candidates.
- Age relaxation of 13 years for PWD (OBC) candidates.
- J & K domicile person during the period from 01/ 01/ 1980 to 31/ 12/ 1989 will get age relaxation of 5 years.
Nationality
- Candidates having certificate of citizen of India are eligible.
- Candidates, who are citizen of either Bhutan or Nepal or Bangladesh, are eligible only when they have valid certificate stating that they have permanent intention to settle in India.
Selection Procedure
The SBI clerk exam 2018 has been divided into 3 stages. First being the online preliminary examination, second is online mains examination and third is the language test.
Preliminary Examination
The preliminary exam will be a computer based test and will have a total of 100 questions of 100 marks. Each question will contain 1 mark. There will be three sections Reasoning, Aptitude and English. Reasoning and Aptitude section will have 35 questions each and English section will have 30 questions. The total time for the exam is 1 hours but the time allotted for each section will be 20 minutes.
Mains Examination
The mains exam is also a computer based test. This exam will have a total of 190 questions for 200 marks. There will be four sections in the exam as – General / Financial Awareness, General English, Aptitude, Reasoning and Computers. From these sections, General Awareness will contain 50 questions of 50 marks and has be allotted 35 minutes, General English will contain 40 questions of 40 marks and the time allotted is 35 minutes, Aptitude will have 50 questions for 50 marks with 45 minutes of time duration and Reasoning and Computers will have 50 questions for 60 marks with 45 minutes of time. The total time for the exam is 2 hours and 40 minutes.
There will be negative marking in both the preliminary and mains examination of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. There will be no sectional cut off for preliminary and mains examination. Also there will be no overall cut off for both the examinations.
Pay Scale – Salary
Everybody wants to know about the pay scale and what salary will they get, so the pay scale for SBI clerical is 11765-655/3-13730-815/3-16175-980/4-20095-1145/7-28110-2120/1-30230-1310/1-31450. On an approximate you will get Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- per month.

Fees Payment

Admit Card
Admit cards for preliminary exam will be made available from March 3rd, 2018. The admit card for preliminary exam training will be available from the mid of February.
Result
Result for preliminary exam will be declared in the month of April, 2018. Mains result will be declared in the month of June, 2018.
