No, you need not to send any hard copy of the SSC.

Is the SSC CGL exam will be in Hindi language also?

Yes. The questions of reasoning section, quantitative aptitude section and general awareness section will be in both the languages that is in English and in Hindi. But the English section of the examination will be in English language only.

How many stages are there in SSC CGL exam?

There are a total of 4 stages in this exam, which are more commonly called as Tier – 1, Tier – 2, Tier – 3 and Tier – 4.

What will be the exam pattern for Tier – 1 exam of SSC CGL 2018?

How much time will be allotted in the tier – 1 examination?

There will be a total time of 60 minutes.

Is there any sectional cut off like it is there in banking exams?

No. SSC don’t follow the concept of sectional cut off. You only need to clear the overall cut off.

Is the tier – 3 exam is also computer based?

No. The third level exam of SSC CGL is not a computer based exam. It is of pen and paper mode.

Is the tier – 1 marks get considered in the final merit list?

Yes. The marks from all the four tiers, gets considered in the final merit list.

Is there any physical examination for any post?

Yes, there is a physical examination that you need to go through for the posts like – inspector and sub inspectors.

Do women candidates also have to go through the physical examination?

Yes. The physical examination is for both men and women.

Is there any negative marking in SSC CGL?

Yes. SSC CGL follows the concept of negative marking in the first two stages of the examinations.

How much marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in tier – 1?

There will be a deduction of 0.5 marks for every wrong answer in SSC CGL tier – 1 examination.

How much negative marking is there for tier – 2 exam?

There will be a negative marking of one forth marks of the total marks that have been allotted to a question.

Is there any other means to fill the application form than online?

No, there is no such other way to fill the application form. You have to get it filled online only.

How can I make payment after filling my application form?

You can either pay through your SBI Net banking or through challan, which gets generated online and has to be submitted to any of the SBI branch.

What should be the format of the files that need to be uploaded?

The file should have to be JPEG format.

What should be the size of the scanned photograph that we need to upload?

The size of the photograph should be in between 30Kb to 50 Kb.

What should be the size of the scanned signature?

The scanned copy of signature should not have to be less than 1Kb and more than 12kb.

Is there any fees exemption for women candidates?

Yes, women candidates need not to pay any fees for this exam.

Can I apply for more than one post?

Yes. All you need to do is the fill the post preferences in the correct order as per your eligibility for the post.

Is it compulsory to fill all the three centers for exam?

Yes. As there are a huge number of candidates that apply for SSC CGL, so it might be not possible for the commission to allot you the center of your very first preference. So they ask for the alternatives.

Is there a possibility that I can get a job at my preferred location?

Yes, there is a possibility of that, but the only condition here is that you have to score really good marks, so that the post in your preferred location is still vacant for you. Otherwise some people with better marks have more chances to get it.

What is the grade pay for the posts under SSC CGL?

There are actually many grade pays in SSC CGL because of the different groups. The 5 grade pays of SSC CGL are – 4800, 4600, 4200, 2800 and 2400.

How much salary is there is SSC CGL?

Well the salary depends upon on what post you have been recruited for and for what department of ministry you are going to work for. How will be I get my admit card?

The admit cards will be out on the official website of SSC.

Is SSC going to send me the admit card at my home address?

SSC used to do this a few years back, but now they do not send any admit cards physically.

From where can I download my admit card?

You need to visit the official website of SSC, you can go there by clicking here, after there go to the admit card tab. You will find the separate links of SSC websites state wise and you are supposed to visit the respective link of your state (from where you have applied for). Now you can download the admit card by entering the registration number and password.

What if I forget my registration number, then how will I download my admit card?

You can also download the admit card by entering basic details like – First four letters of your name, first four letters of your father’s name and your date of birth.

How can I get the OBC reservation benefits?

To get details regarding how and what reservation benefits you get, you are required to go through the official notification. The link to the official notification will be updated here, once the notification gets released.

I use 5D spectacles, so is it going to create any problem for me if I apply for the post of Inspector or Sub – Inspector?

No. All what SSC needs for such posts is that you should have 6/6 vision, either with glasses or without glasses.

What if I don’t write the Statistics or General Studies paper in tier – 2?

Even if you don’t write the above mentioned papers, then you will not be considered for the posts that are respective to these papers. You will be considered as a valid candidate for rest of the posts.

If I don’t qualify in the statistics paper in the tier – 3, then will I be rejected for all other posts as well?

No. You will be considered for all other posts, if you qualify the first two common papers of tier – 3 and do not qualify the third paper.
