for IBPS RRB 2018

The registration for the application for the various posts of IBPS RRB has been already started from 6th of June, 2018 and we request you to don’t sit back until the very last date. Get your registration done and start with the required preparations.

For all who are a bit confuse about the exam pattern for different posts and for those who have a doubt on syllabus, we are here with this detailed article on syllabus of preliminary examination and exam pattern for all the different posts like – office assistant (multipurpose), officer scale – I and officer scale – II and III.

Some of these posts have only one or single online objective computer-based examination and some others do have two phase of online computer based objective examination. So let’s first discuss the exam pattern for all the different posts.

Exam Pattern for IBPS RRB

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

If you are someone who is applying for the post of office assistant (multipurpose) in the IBPS RRB banks, then the first thing that you need to know here is that it is a two-phase examination process of selection. The examination is called as the preliminary examination and the second one is called as the mains examination.

Preliminary Examination

The exam pattern of the preliminary examination for the post of office assistant (multipurpose) is as follows –

Mains Examination

Exam pattern for mains examination is has been provided below for the post of office assistant (multipurpose) –

Officer Scale – I

The selection procedure for the post of officer scale – I in the IBPS RRB banks has two online objective computer-based examinations. The preliminary examination and the mains examination. The exam pattern of both of these has been provided below.

Officer Scale – II (General Banking Officer)

This post belongs to the scale – II level of IBPS RRB banks. The selection procedure is quite simple as the candidates, who have applied for this job needs to go through only one examination. But, at the same time, it is also quite difficult, as the level of examination is high. The exam pattern for this single examination is –

Officer Scale – II (Special Cadre)

This is also a single examination test for the selection in IBPS RRB. The exam pattern is as follows –

Officer Scale – III

This is also a post that has an only single examination to get selected as scale – III officer in IBPS RRB banks. The exam pattern for this scale – III post has been provided below –

Negative Marking

All the above-mentioned examinations have the same negative marking scheme applied by the IBPS RRB. Each and every examination, whether it is the preliminary examination or the mains examination or the single level examination, there will be a fixed penalty of 0.25 marks getting deducted as per the marks assigned to a question. No marks will be awarded or deducted for the questions left unanswered.

Cut Off

The candidates had to clear all the sectional cut-offs in all the above-mentioned examinations. If you fail to clear the sectional cut off in any of these examinations, then it is impossible for you to get to the next level.

But, if a candidate only clears the sectional cut off doesn’t get selected for the next level until he or she also clears the overall cut off.
