कोरोना महामारी पर नियंत्रण के लिए किये गए लॉकडाउन की वजह से देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को भारी नुकसान पहुँचा है। वर्तमान परिस्थितियों में देश की सूक्ष्म, लघु एवं माध्यम उद्योग को आर्थिक घाटा से दो -चार होना पड़ रहा है। एमएसएमई को आर्थिक संकट से उबारने के लिये प्रधानमंत्री मोदी द्वारा 1 जून 2020 को CHAMPIONS Portal लांच किया गया है। चैंपियंस से अभिप्राय Creation and Harmonious Application of Morden Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength है। इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से देश में स्थित एमएसएमई की कच्चा माल , आयत -निर्यात, वर्कर्स, व्यापार ऋण से सम्बंधित सभी समस्याओं का समाधान निर्धारित समयावधि के अन्दर किया जाएगा। इसके अतिरिक्त नए उद्योगों को शुरू करने के लिए उद्योग रजिस्ट्रेशन, डाक्यूमेंट्स तैयार करवाने, ऋण प्राप्त करने आदि में आने वाली मुश्किलों का निवारण किया जाएगा।
एमएसएमई उद्योगो का देश की अर्थव्यवस्था में अहम भूमिका है। देश की कुल घरेलू उत्पादों की पूर्ति में लगभग 29% का योगदान एमएसएमई उद्योगो का है। हाल हीं में देश की अर्थव्यवस्था को पुनः पटरी पर लाने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री मोदी द्वारा आत्मनिर्भर भारत आर्थिक पैकेज की घोषणा की गयी थी। इस पैकेज के अंतर्गत वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण द्वारा 13 मई 2020 को एमएसएमई के निवेश की सीमा बढ़ाने की घोषणा की गयी है। अब सूक्षम उद्योगों के निवेश की सीमा रु 1 करोड़ और टर्नओवर रु 5 करोड़ होगी। लघु उद्योगों के लिए निवेश की सीमा रु 10 करोड़ और टर्नओवर रु 50 करोड़ तथा माध्यम उद्योगों के निवेश की सीमा 20 करोड़ और टर्नओवर रु 250 करोड़ तय की गयी है। आइये जाने एमएसएमई के लिए चैंपियंस पोर्टल कैसे सहायक सिद्ध होगा।

- एमएसएमई उद्योग को शुरू करने में आने वाली समस्याओं का सात दिन के अन्दर समाधान करना।
- वर्तमान महामारी काल की कठिन परिस्थितयों का सामना करने में एमएसएमई उद्योगो का हर संभव मदद प्रदान करना।
